David is a lecturer at Middlesbrough College where he teaches Law and Health and Safety. He has been the union chair there for the last 10 years, representing fellow employees. He is married with two children, and has lived in the ward since 1998.

After getting his History Degree at University, David started work at British Steel in Teesside, then the Factory Inspectorate and finally teaching at Middlesbrough College.

David has campaigned for a number of issues, such a safe crossing for children across Stainton Way, Brass castle Lane, as well as a bus service to the Parkway Centre. He will be campaigning for improved facilities for the Marton West area, including better transport and better play facilities.
